Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Aurora (the "Extension"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, please don't use Aurora.
What Aurora Is
Aurora is a browser extension that provides a user interface for interacting with AI writing assistants. Aurora itself does not perform AI processing — you provide your own API keys to third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google).
User Accounts & Subscriptions
Free Users
Can use Aurora with their own AI provider API keys. Limited to baseline features.
Pro Users
- $6/month subscription (billed monthly or annually)
- Access to additional features (translation, custom prompts, extra tones)
- Subscription is non-refundable except where required by law
Cancellation
- You can cancel your subscription anytime
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing cycle
- No refunds for partial months
API Keys & Third-Party Services
Your Responsibility
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys
- Aurora stores keys locally on your device only — we cannot recover lost keys
- You are responsible for all activity conducted using your API keys
- Usage fees from your AI provider are your responsibility
API Provider Liability
Aurora is not liable for:
- Downtime or issues with OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google services
- Charges incurred through your API usage
- Content processing by third-party AI providers
- Violations of third-party terms of service
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Aurora to:
- Generate content for illegal purposes
- Create spam, malware, or phishing content
- Harass, threaten, or abuse others
- Violate intellectual property rights
- Violate the terms of service of OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or circumvent Aurora's security
Intellectual Property
Aurora
- Aurora's design, code, and branding are proprietary
- You have a limited license to use Aurora for personal purposes
- You may not modify, reverse-engineer, or redistribute Aurora
Your Content
- You retain all rights to content you create
- You grant Aurora permission to access your content solely to display it in the extension
- Aurora does not claim ownership of your writing
Disclaimer of Warranties
Aurora is provided "as-is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
We do not guarantee Aurora will work on all websites, remain compatible with future browser versions, or never experience downtime.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Aurora (and its creators) are not liable for lost data, indirect damages, or damages exceeding the amount you paid for Aurora.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. Changes take effect when posted. Continued use means acceptance.
Termination
We reserve the right to terminate your account if you violate these Terms, violate third-party terms, engage in illegal activity, or abuse the service.
